Tarot and Shamanic practice in Courses?

Good morning Susun,

Just a note to tell you how much I am enjoying your website. I read Part 1 of your autobiography and will try to be patient while awaiting Part 2.

I have a couple of questions regarding your correspondence courses. In addition to all that you have to offer through these courses, I am also interested in Shamanic practice and Tarot. Do your courses touch on either of these areas?

Dear Lindy

The Green Witch course includes some material on using the tarot in a wise woman way. As the author of two decks I can tell you that your personal studies and doing lots of readings for others is the best way to learn.

Shamanic studies are best done in person. That's why I offer a Shamanic Herbal apprenticeship. The closest you would get in a correspondence course would be the Green Allies course. It does include a lot of trance work and psychic connections with plants.

Yes, you can do a correspondence course with me even if you live in Australia. In fact, I have several correspondence students who live in Australia, several in New Zealand, a few in South America, lots in Europe. The information I share is not restricted to North America.

                                     Questions from Australia

Dear Susun,

I am most inspired by your article in the Australian Witchcraft Magazine. What a wonderful life you have and such an interesting one, it must make you feel good to share your knowledge with people who are willing to learn.

I ended up visiting your website as I'm interested in the correspondence courses you have, especially "Green Witch". I don't know how to do payments and whether you teach someone as far as Australia. If not, do you know anyone in Australia who might do the same work as you?? I'm living in Tasmania and there are not to many pagans down here, so you don't see any articles about what is going on.

I'm also going to track down your book "Wise Woman Herbal For The Childbearing Year" as I have recently found out I'm pregnant and the book caught my eye.. Anyway, thank you for your time and hope to hear back from you.

I have other students in Australia. And some in New Zealand, and Holland, and Germany, and Africa, and Japan, and France, and Switzerland, and South America! I really enjoy having correspondents all over the world.

Mail is fairly fast between the states and Australia; sometimes faster than sending something to Canada. We ship books and tapes all over so it is no problem sending your materials to you.

What an incredible idea to devote yourself to hormone consulting. I trust you will bring much ease to many women and their families. Me, I am not sure that I know enough about hormones to want to mess with them; that's why I stick with herbs and let them do the messing for me.

You would probably do best with Spirit and Practice of the Wise Woman Tradition course. But you may want to try Green Allies. The first one covers the three traditions of healing and the six steps of healing; two primary paradigms I work with. There is lots of specific info on using herbs and other modalities. The second one takes you through a year focusing on one plant and thereby learning about herbal medicine.

New Meno Years is being shipped to distributors this week and will hopefully be in stores by the second week of December. If you preordered, we will send you one by priority mail as soon as we receive our copies (next week).
