Week Internship?
Hello Susun,
My name is Annie. I am currently a graduate student with
the Audubon Expedition Institute getting my master's in Environmental
Education. What I really want my master's in is the wise woman
healing that you offer.
I have read Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year
and Healing Wise. I also recently read your article in the
Sage Woman magazine.
I am truly in love with your teaching! I feel that your thoughts
jump right off the page and lodge themselves in my heart and
mind. I would love the opportunity to meet you
and further my understanding of all that your teaching would
encompass.
This spring I need to complete a ten-week internship with
an organization. I would love to come and study with you.
I would want to work for stay, and possibly stay longer than
my required ten weeks.
I want to come to the work-weekend in February and have asked
my love Daniel to come with me. He is currently in the backcountry,
and will let me know when he comes back.
Thank you for opening yourself to all those around you. I
look forward to hearing from you.
With grace, Annie

Response: apprentice/intern with Weed
Dear Annie
Yes, we can work out a ten week internship for you. I would
call it an apprenticeship though, as my interns are apprentices
who have completed thirteen weeks of study with me. But you
can call it whatever you want.
In 2002 I will offer shamanic-herbal apprenticeships (minimum
of 13 week commitment) and herbal apprenticeships (minimum
of 2 weeks). More information on these opportunities will
be posted on my website within the month and sent by mail
(drop me a card if you want apprentice info mailed to you)
before the end of the year.
So glad that you and your sweetheart are planning to join
us for the work week. Note that the dates are somewhat indefinite.
Send me your phone number and I will put you on the phone
list to call with specific dates as the time draws closer.
Looking forward to our time together,
the Wise Woman Way.
Green Blessings, Susun Weed

"One of the most powerful spokespersons of the herbal
movement, Susun Weed introduces a marvelous sense of vitality
and originality to herbalism. A poet, artist, and visionary,
Weed draws us into ancient wisdom in a way that is clear
and refreshing. I recommend Healing Wise highly - there
is good medicine in these teachings." Rosemary
